2.打开终端依次执行以下命令行

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install build-essential

tar zxvf madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-current.tar.gz

cd madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801

cd madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801

make clean

make

sudo make install

sudo reboot 

好了，您的ubuntu  8.04可以使用无线上网了

Last time introduced the kstars in ubuntu,now if you are a skymap user,you can use wine to generate your skymap under windows,which subjects to your double OS computer system.

1.sudo apt-get install wine

If you can not install wine pls check your software-resources by system-->...

2.wine /.../Skymap32.exe

As to kstars 1.2.9,which had been introduced before.Here is some experience on geolocation setup:

1.Check your city longitude and latitude on  http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=537

2.Open kstars and click the geolocation bottum then put your data on it,becareful the UT time zone must be your actual time zone but not the time zone you are using,for instance Kunming is using the Beijing time (UTC+8),but Kunming belongs to the +7 time zone,so you should input +7 in the UT option,and you should choose the right DST rules such as China is "CH".However there is still bug in kstars,if you have wrong setting of your city,you can not delete the wrong setting on the list,somebody says that you can delete them from the mycities.dat file but I can not find any of this file on my ubuntu.

上面的3D演示程序是使用java编写的程序，在我的ubuntu 8.04里面seamonkey和firefox都因缺少插件而无法显示。

解决办法：

1.在这里http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp下载linux的jre(selfextracting file)

切换到root用户 ：su

用这两个命令安装：chmod a+x jre-6u<jre版本号>-linux-i586.bin

./jre-6u<version>-linux-i586.bin

2.安装完jre以后，在系统里面分别找到你的浏览器安装目录如seamonkey下的plugins文件夹，现在建立symlink就可以让jre在浏览器上工作了，方法如下：

命令：ln -s <jre的安装目录>/plugin/..../libjavaplugin_oji.so  <浏览器安装目录>/.../plugins

如在我的电脑上：

ln -s  /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.06/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so  /home/kk/seamonkey/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so 

重新启动seamonkey，就可以运行演示的java 程序了，firefox的方法也一样。

The above is one screen shot of Kstar under ubuntu 8.04.It is one of the free software.For amateur astronomy fans it is a good software to see "what will happen tonight" on ubuntu.Unfortunately it just has only one place "Beijing,China" for the chinese user. 

The seamonkey has the new version published,it is an efficient nevigator,fast,stop easy,very nice,but it doesn't have chinese version and has some bugs,for instance the dispaly of mouse indicator is not stable when you put the mouse indicator to a link.

firefox是很好的浏览器,不用ie内核,速度比ie快1-2倍,界面也很亲切.

如果安装的时候出现7 zip拒绝访问的错误,应该是你的病毒防火墙软件出了问题,我用mcafee要到它的控制台关掉实时监控才能征程安装firefox.

在ubuntu里面firefox也是标准配置,实在是太好用了!
